I love the school. The teachers are rigorous and always have high expectations. The school is beautiful. I mean, where do you find bunnies in a garden in front of an elementary school in the inner city?!? The school always have different displays of art and student work. There is a lot of student and teacher pride in the school. Love it!

My daughter was a student in pre -school program .. After one year passing by , my daughter is still asking me with fear if she is going to see that yeacher again. In two occasions my daughter was crying when I went to pick her up from school and the teacher reacted like nothing happend. Parents ASK before you register your child who is the pre-school teacher and ask former students about her behavior.. Why are you a teacher if you don't enjoy it, why are you mistreating a 3 yrs old that has her first experience in school ?

I am a former student of Hayt school and so are my two brothers now I have two kids a first grader and a pre-schooler in that school. I love the relationship Ive had with my kids teachers their open to hear me and they have an open door policy. I'm involved in the PTO and its very helpful to be involved and you dont have to be there all the time to be involved. I love it and I hope that my kids could continue going there!

I live in the neighborhood and my children have attended Hayt as pre-schoolers. The school has wonderful diversity but is overcrowded. Many of the students are still learning to speak English, so the quality of the education suffers.

I am so glad that my son now attends Hayt. This is my son's first experience with Chicago Public Schools, and I could not have asked for a better school environment for him. Hayt has been nothing but supportive and inclusive of me and my son, we also like the curriculum and the afterschool programs offered.

The quality of programs are above average. The warmth of the staff shows that there is a healthy climate between the teachers and administration.

I am a former student of this school. And now a parent with children attending. The staff is show's little concern for it's student's. Teacher's are not performing in or out of the classroom adequately. Favortism is used by the teacher's among student's. On going gossip(student) is shared with future teacher's. No after school program available for students. Nor any musical offered for student's.. Hayt has done a great job with remodeling. But staff needs impovement.
